Who are CSIL Employers?
CSIL Employers are people with disabilities who direct the support they receive and make decisions about how that support fits into their lives. They are not simply patients or passive recipients of support. They hold decision-making power: they determine who enters their homes, who they trust to provide intimate or essential support, and how that support enables them to live with dignity, autonomy, and choice. The term “Employer” reflects this shift in power. It recognizes CSIL participants as decision-makers and leaders in their own support—not as care recipients whose needs are defined or managed by others. This distinction matters. CSIL Employers are not merely receiving services; they are exercising control over the conditions that make independent living possible.
Our Work
The Association of CSIL Employers (ACE) turns the voices and lived experiences of CSIL Employers into collective action for meaningful change across British Columbia.
Grassroots Organizing
We bring CSIL Employers together across British Columbia to advocate directly with their decion-makers. By coordinating our voices around shared priorities and clear asks, we turn individual experiences into collective pressure for meaningful change.
Community Engagement
We create spaces for CSIL Employers to connect, stay informed, and be heard. Through newsletters, meetings, and ongoing outreach, we identify shared challenges and ensure our advocacy is grounded in the experiences of the CSIL community.
